About Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is the most southerly resort on Lanzarote which is 34 km from the airport (approx 30 min drive) – From the seafront you can see Fuerteventura which is 11km by ferry. Ferries cross to the Island several times a day from the main harbour.

The front is populated with a variety of beaches, notably Playa Dorada, Papagayo (reckoned to one of the best on the island) and Playa Flamingo. Playa Blanca has a relaxed atmosphere compared to the more upbeat nightlife in Puerto del Carmen, restaurants on the front feature a wonderful sea view – perfect for couples and families.

Playa Blanca has an upmarket Marina called Marina Rubicon, situated outside town on the road to Papagayo, with stores that sell many of the designer brands including GANT, Burbury, Lacoste etc., also a good selection of Restaurants selling local fresh food and bars where you can relax while enjoying a cocktail.

The Playa Blanca Marina has its own market which is very popular on a Wednesday & Saturday between 9am-2pm.

Playa Blanca has many restaurants offering excellent cuisine, shops, car hire and supermarkets. The promenade runs right along the sea front  to the newly developed international marina at one end, and up to the lighthouse at the other.  Backing onto the sea front restaurants is a pedestranised shopping area. Local taxi are available at very reasonable prices should you wish not to drive home from the restaurants!
